A red Ford Expedition collided with a gasoline tanker Friday afternoon near Pinole Valley Road.
Pinole, CA. – One person was hospitalized after a truck accident that happened Friday afternoon in Pinole, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wreck was reported around 1:56 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near Pinole Valley Road.
CHP said the crash involved a red Ford Expedition and an unloaded gasoline tanker.
Firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes.
The driver of the Expedition was transported to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center by ground ambulance with unspecified injuries.
The Expedition was towed away with major front-end damage.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
