At Least 1 Injured in Carlsbad Car Collision on Interstate 5 at Cannon Road
Carlsbad, California (February 5, 2022) – At least one person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle pileup that happened Friday afternoon in Carlsbad, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at about 2:47 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at Cannon Road.
Five vehicles, including a Nissan Altima, were involved in the accident.
The front passenger of the Altima called authorities reporting that their mother suffered shoulder injuries and their grandmother in the rear seat complained of pain to the neck. The passenger also said they hit their knee hard, and all of them needed medical attention.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported at least one person to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with the complaint of pain.
Authorities did not immediately establish the cause of the crash, but an investigation is ongoing.
