, California (November 22, 2021) – The woman who was killed in a crash in Bakersfield early Friday morning has been identified as Carmen Romero Vidal, 23, of Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.

The wreck took place in the 14000 block of Stockdale Highway at Renfro Road at around 12:09 a.m. November 19.

Police said a red Honda Civic and another vehicle were involved.

Vidal was a passenger in the Civic and was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

A passenger in the Civic and the driver were both hospitalized with major injuries.

Police said speed is suspected to have been a factor in the accident.

An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
