Perris, CA – A woman was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver on Interstate 215 in Perris on Thursday last week in Perris, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Carol Omo Aba, 30, of Perris.
According to the CHP, the deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 9:34 p.m. on May 29 on southbound Interstate 215, approximately 1033 feet south of Placentia Avenue.
Authorities said the driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on 215 before entering the ramp and struck Carol Omo, was also walking southbound along 215.
The driver did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian.
Carol was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP officers with the help of the Menifee Police Department located the suspect.
The suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of alcohol, Felony Hit-and-Run, driving with a suspended or revoked license and Vehicular Manslaughter.
The incident remains under investigation.
