Police said Escajeda was hit by a vehicle at the parking lot of Costco near Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue
Surprise, AZ– Carole Escajeda, 87, was hit and killed by a vehicle at a Costco store in Surprise on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Surprise Police Department.
The crash happened near Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. April 9.
Police said Escajeda was hit by a vehicle at the parking lot of the store.
Despite life-saving measures by the emergency crews, Escajeda was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene after the accident.
Impairment was not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
