One Killed in Carpinteria Crash on Highway 101 near Padaro Lane
Carpinteria, California (March 18, 2022) – One person was killed in a collision with a big rig in Carpinteria early Friday morning, according to the authorities.
The crash took place at about 2:18 a.m. on Highway 101 north of the Padaro Lane overpass.
According to CHP, a silver Nissan and a semi truck were involved in the collision.
The vehicles collided on the southbound lanes of the highway and ended up near the railroad tracks.
One person died following the collision.
The right-hand southbound lane of the highway was closed for the investigation.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
