19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed after DUI Driver Runs Red Light near Interstate 10 and Pebble Creek Parkway in Goodyear

Goodyear, Arizona (September 14, 2022) – 19-year-old Carson Smith died after a DUI driver ran a red light, crashing into a motorcycle and a car early Tuesday morning in Goodyear, according to the Goodyear Police Department.
40-year-old Christopher Clark was arrested following the accident that happened at around 1:50 a.m. near Interstate 10 and Pebble Creek Parkway.
According to police, Clark ran a red light near the intersection and struck Smith's motorcycle and another car.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash scene and found Smith unresponsive. The rider was rushed to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The condition of the other driver remained unknown.
Police established that Clark was driving under the influence of drugs when he ran the red light and arrested him. He was booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated assault, DUI, DUI drugs, and reckless driving.
