As Celena Vega went to check on the victim and was trying to call 911, she was struck by another vehicle
Youngtown, AZ. – A woman died days after being involved in a pedestrian crash while assisting a victim of a hit-and-run in Youngtown on Sunday night.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office, the incident happened on 111th Avenue just before 10 p.m. July 13.
A woman was reportedly struck by a driver who left the scene after the accident.
As Celena Vega went to check on the victim and was trying to call 911, she was struck by another vehicle.
Both victims were taken to a hospital, where Vega was pronounced deceased days later.
There was no update on the condition of the other victim.
The driver who struck Vega remained at the scene after the crash.
The MCSO is conducting an investigation into the incident.
