Man Killed in Chico Pedestrian Accident on Notre Dame Boulevard near Raley's
Chico, California (January 30, 2022) – A pedestrian pushing a shopping cart died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday evening, Chico Police said.
The crash was reported at about 6:35 p.m. on January 29 on Notre Dame Boulevard near Raley's.
According to the Chico Police Department, the pedestrian was pushing a shopping cart across Notre Dame Boulevard when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound.

The pedestrian, only identified as a male victim, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next kin.
The involved driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, police said. Alcohol or speed was not considered a factor in the crash.

Authorities temporally closed the roadway for nearly five hours due to the incident.
