Peoria, Ariz. – An 8-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Peoria Thursday afternoon.
The Peoria Police Department responded to the incident at the intersection of 124th Avenue and West Gentle Rain Drive at around 3:15 p.m.
Reports indicated that the boy was hit by a sedan while trying to exit the vehicle.
The boy was transported by the same vehicle to the hospital with severe injuries, where he was pronounced dead.
Impairment was ruled as the cause of the collision.
The name of the boy was not immediately established.
