1-Year-Old Child Killed, 3 Injured in Davis Crash on Interstate 80 near Richards Boulevard Off-Ramp
Davis, California (December 2, 2021) – A 1-year-old was killed in a Thursday morning traffic accident that left three other people injured in Davis, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. along the eastbound side of Interstate 80 near the Richards Boulevard off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a sedan crashed into the center divider and came to rest back in the roadway in unclear circumstances.
Following the collision, a box truck and a pickup truck reportedly crashed into the sedan, but it's unclear which vehicle struck first.
As a result of the crash impact, the 1-year-old child who was in the sedan was ejected from the vehicle.

Sadly the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people in the sedan sustained major injuries and were hospitalized for treatment.
The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
