Fresno, CA. – A 9-year-old boy was struck and seriously injured in a crash at Michigan Avenue in Fresno Wednesday morning.
According to the authorities, the auto-pedestrian accident happened at Michigan Avenue and Orchard Street at around 7:30 a.m.
Authorities say a nine-year-old boy was being dropped off at school and was running across the street when a driver was unable to stop and hit the child. Police said he was not in a crosswalk.
The boy suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
Alcohol or drugs were not factors in the incident.
