CHP Officer Injured in Riverside Motorcycle Accident at Adams Street and Indiana Avenue

Riverside, California (May 9, 2022) – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured after being struck by a car at an intersection in Riverside on Monday morning.
The motorcycle accident happened at the intersection of Adams Street and Indiana Avenue at around 4:55 a.m., May 9.
The CHP officer was stopped at the intersection when he was struck by a 2005 Hyundai Elantra driven by 26-year-old Heather Fernandez, of Riverside.
The officer was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Heather fled the scene but was later located and arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
