CHP Officer Hurt in Redding Car Accident on I-5 near Bonnyview Exit
Redding, California (August 4, 2022) – A crash injured a CHP officer early Thursday morning in Redding, according to the authorities.
The incident took place on northbound I-5 near the Bonnyview exit shortly before 1 a.m.
According to the report, the officer was at the scene of an earlier collision blocking off the far right lane when a car slammed into the patrol vehicle.
The crash impacted the officer, who was trying to get out of the vehicle.
The officer was treated for minor injuries.
Authorities said one person involved in the earlier two-vehicle collision was hospitalized with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
