Two California Highway Patrol Officers Injured in Solano County Crash on Interstate 80 near American Canyon Road
Solano County, California (September 11, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Sunday morning suspected DUI accident that left two California Highway Patrol Officers injured in Solano County.
The accident occurred early Sunday morning on the shoulder of Interstate 80 westbound, east of American Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, both officers were standing outside of their vehicle on an enforcement stop when an SUV traveling on the right shoulder hit the officers' vehicle, which then caused the car to collide with the officers.
The two officers were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment. One officer had a concussion, and the other had a broken leg.
The involved driver was arrested for a DUI after a complaint of injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
