Christopher Dixon Dies in Adelanto Car Accident on Highway 395 at Auburn Avenue

Adelanto, California (September 19, 2022) – 35-year-old Christopher Dixon of Adelanto was killed when his car was rear-ended by a distracted driver Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Adelanto, as per a local news source.
The accident was reported at about 6:11 p.m. on Highway 395 at Auburn Avenue.
According to sheriff's deputies, Dixon was stopped in the northbound lane of the highway in his 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, waiting to turn left onto Auburn Avenue.
At the same time, 49-year-old David Gillis, from Georgia, was heading in the same direction in a 2015 Toyota Tundra when he was reportedly distracted and rear-ended Dixon's car.
The force of the crash sent Dixon's vehicle into the southbound lane of the highway, where it was broadsided by a 2020 Dodge Durango driven southbound by Juan Diaz-Pascasio, 33, of Victorville. Dixon's car overturned.

Emergency personnel pronounced Dixon dead at the scene of the crash.
Diaz-Piscasio and several of his passengers were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
Gillis was not hurt.
According to police, distracted driving appeared to have played a role in the crash. Sheriff's deputies were expected to forward the collision report to the District Attorney's Office for review and filing of charges.
Highway 395 was blocked in both directions between El Mirage Road and Chamberlaine Road for several hours while an investigation was ongoing.
