Christopher Moreno Arrested after Los Alamos Collision on Highway 101

Los Alamos, California (March 10, 2022) – Christopher Moreno, 44, of Los Alamos was arrested following a wrong-way crash that happened on Tuesday night near Los Alamos, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened on Highway 101 shortly before 8 p.m. March 8.

CHP said 32-year-old Christopher Moreno was driving a Freightliner semi- south on the northbound side of Highway 101 when he crashed head-on into a northbound Toyota driven by 44-year-old William Platte, of Los Osos.

Christopher Moreno Arrested after Los Alamos Crash 

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated Platte from the Toyota. He was airlifted to Cottage Hospital in for treatment of major injuries.

Moreno and his passenger, a 31-year-old man from Squaw Valley, sustained moderate injuries.

Authorities arrested Moreno on suspicion of DUI.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
