Clifton Vial, Vanessa Aguilar Among 3 Injured in Fatal Antelope Valley Crash on Sierra Highway near Avenue B
Antelope Valley, California (May 5, 2022) – Clifton Vial, 62, of Rosamond, and Vanessa Aguilar, 28, of Rosamond, have been identified as two of the three parties who were injured in a Tuesday evening head-on collision that killed a 29-year-old Inglewood man in Antelope Valley, authorities said.
The accident happened on Sierra Highway, south of Avenue B, at around 8:08 p.m., on May 3.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Nissan Sentra, driven by a 29-year-old Inglewood man, was headed northbound on Sierra Highway when it unsafely attempted to pass a 2008 Honda Pilot, operated by Aguilar.
Unfortunately, the Nissan reportedly collided head-on with a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by Vial, that was traveling southbound on the highway.
As a result of the crash impact, the Nissan went out of control towards the east shoulder of the roadway, where it flipped over. The Toyota overturned in the crash and was struck by the Honda.

Sadly, the 29-year-old Inglewood man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vial sustained a broken toe, and Aguilar was surfing from abdominal pain. A 39-year-old woman of Rosamond, Aguilar's passenger, complained of neck, chest, and lower back pain.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
