Luna was found lying on the side of the road and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he later died
Oxnard, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Sunday evening in Oxnard.
At around 5:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a pedestrian accident near the intersection of Gonzales Road and Rose Avenue.
58-year-old Cristero Peter Luna was reportedly struck by a 2004 Toyota Camry that was turning onto Gonzales Road from Williams Drive.
Luna was found lying on the side of the road and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.
Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
