Cristian Sanchez Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 46 in Paso Robles

County, California (September 20, 2021) – Cristian Sanchez, 44, of , has been identified as the person who was injured Monday morning in a traffic collision in Paso Robles.

The crash happened at about 5:40 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 46 and Jardine Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a 2019 Freightliner was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound Highway 46 from Jardine Road when it pulled out in front of a 2019 Volkswagen MK VII that was heading a 2019 Volkswagen MK VII, driven by Sanchez.

Sanchez was unable to avoid the collision, and the Volkswagen struck the trailer of the Freightliner.

Sanchez sustained minor injuries and was taken by land ambulance to Sierra Regional Medical Center.

Lomeli did not suffer any injuries in the crash.

The collision prompted the authorities to temporarily close one westbound lane of Highway 46 and the turn lane from eastbound Highway 46 to Jardine Road.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
