The CHP said Benjamin was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier at a high rate of speed on the interstate when he failed to negotiate a curve and moved across the median

Roseville, CA.– Dale Benjamin, 52, of Antelope, and Ryan Penano, 43, of Rancho Cordova, were injured in a collision between two vehicles in Rancho Cordova on Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision took place on Interstate 80 at the Eureka Road offramp at about 3 p.m. July 21.
The CHP said Benjamin was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier at a high rate of speed on the interstate when he failed to negotiate a curve and moved across the median.
The Nissan then broadsided a 2020 Hyundai Palisade that was operated by Penano.
The Nissan continued heading southbound and came to a rest after hitting a metal guardrail and falling down a steep slope.
Penano had two juveniles as passengers in her car and all occupants of the vehicle had major injuries.
Benjamin had serious injuries while his passenger suffered moderate injuries.
The patients were all taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment.
The accident is under investigation by the CHP.
