1 Suffers Major Injuries in Daly City Car Crash on Interstate 280 near Hickey Boulevard

Daly City, California (December 13, 2021) – One person was sent to the hospital with major injuries after a traffic collision that also knocked down a tree early Monday morning in Daly City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles collided at around 12:14 a.m. on southbound Interstate 280 near Hickey Boulevard.
The vehicles collided under unclear circumstances. One of them crashed into a huge tree, knocking it down. The tree was blocking three southbound lanes.
Daly City police and firefighters responded to the scene.
Daly City Major Injury Accident
One person suffered major injuries in the crash. The patient was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.
All southbound lanes of I-280 and Hickey Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-280 remained closed as firefighters cut and removed the tree from the roadway.
All southbound traffic was being diverted off the freeway to Hickey Boulevard. Motorists who wished to get back to southbound I-280 were advised to use Hickey to connect to Gellert Boulevard and then connect to Westborough Boulevard from where they can access southbound I-280.
All southbound I-280 lanes and the Hickey Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-280 were reopened at 1:24 a.m.
