Trinity County, CA. – 71-year-old David Lindberg died in a motorcycle accident that happened Thursday afternoon in Trinity County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 2:17 p.m. on Highway 36 near Mile Post Marker 33.8.
The Trinity County Sheriff's Office, the United States Forest Service, Cal Fire, and Caltrans personnel responded to the scene.
The responders found a 2019 Honda Super Cub C125 motorcycle down on its side on the dirt and gravel shoulder of the highway.
Lindberg was also located on the shoulder after being ejected from the bike. He was wearing a DOT-approved motorcycle helmet.
The motorcyclist died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Authorities said it appeared Lindberg hit a deer, causing him to lose control.
CHP and the Trinity County Sheriff's Office are investigating the accident.
