Rivera was driving an SUV when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided with an oncoming big rig

Los Banos, Calif. – 39-year-old David Rivera, of Firebaugh, has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as the man who died in a car crash on Thursday in Firebaugh.
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Rivera was driving an SUV when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided with an oncoming big rig. The impact of the collision sent the big rig on the dirt shoulder at the side of the highway.
Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene.
The big rig driver was not injured.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
