David Smith ID'd as Victim Killed in Rialto Car Crash Thursday afternoon at Cactus Avenue and Rialto Avenue
Rialto, California (February 11, 2022) – The San Bernardino Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau has identified the person who died Thursday afternoon following a traffic collision at an intersection in Rialto as David Danik Smith, 26, of San Bernardino.
The crash occurred at around 12:31 p.m. on February 10 at the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Rialto Avenue.
The Rialto Police Department officers were conducting a traffic stop in the area when the driver of a black 2018 Infinity fled and a pursuit ensued.
As the Infinity approached the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Rialto Avenue, the suspect slammed into three vehicles.
The Infinity driver, now identified as Smith, died at the scene at 12:42.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
