, CA – The pedestrian who was killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Eureka on Wednesday afternoon has been identified as David Sprague, 66, of Eureka, according to the Humboldt County Coroner's Office.

The incident took place on I Street near 7th Street at around 1:45 p.m. May 23.

According to the Eureka police, a vehicle traveling northbound on I Street collided with a pedestrian in the roadway, then continued heading north and crashed with other vehicles.

The vehicle then left the roadway and crashed into a building.

Sprague, who was identified as the pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several other parties involved in the accident were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
