Bicyclist Suffers Serious Injuries in Davis Accident at Third Street and L Street
Davis, California (December 6, 2021) – A 19-year-old male cyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries following a bicycle accident at an intersection in Davis Wednesday morning.
The major injury collision was reported at approximately 9:00 a.m., on December 1, at Third and L streets.
The accident happened when a bicycle ridden by the 19-year-old man westbound on Third Street, approaching L Street, was making a left turn onto L Street in the morning hours.
In the process, a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Davis woman north on L Street hit the bicyclist.
The female party reportedly failed to yield the right of way to the bicycle before crashing into him.
Due to the impact, the cyclist was ejected from the bike and struck the car's windshield.
Major Injury Davis Bicycle Accident
The unidentified male party sustained major injuries following the collision. He was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for medication.
Meanwhile, the crash resulted in the closure of the intersection for undetermined reasons.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
