Father, Daughter Hospitalized after Davis Crash at Richards Boulevard and Research Park Drive; Joseph Rodriguez Arrested
Davis, California (December 27, 2021) – A father and his daughter were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after an alleged DUI crash at an intersection in Davis.
According to the Davis Police Department, the collision happened at around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, in the area of Richards Boulevard and Research Park Drive.
Davis police said Joseph Christopher Rodriguez, 38, of Woodland, was driving southbound on Richards Boulevard when, for unknown reasons, he slammed into the back of another vehicle occupied by the father and his teenage daughter.
The impact triggered a chain-reaction crash that involved four other vehicles

The father and his teenage daughter were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities determined that Rodriguez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He was eventually arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
