The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11:59 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway just north of the Shields Avenue on-ramp.
Firebaugh, CA. – At least one person died, and several others were hospitalized after a big rig accident that happened late Sunday night in Firebaugh.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11:59 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway just north of the Shields Avenue on-ramp.
A semi-truck and a blue Ford Fusion were involved in the collision. The big rig was blocking the No. 1 lane after the crash.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced at least one person dead at the scene.
Several other parties were transported to Community Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the crash.
