Demiris Reid Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Cajalco Road in Mead Valley
Mead Valley, California (January 28, 2022) – 65-year-old Demiris Reid has been identified as the woman who died in a multi-vehicle collision Friday morning in Mead Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred at around 5:50 a.m. on Cajalco Road, just west of Barton Street, involving three vehicles.
Reid, a residence of Nuevo, got trapped inside her car.
Firefighters with the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated the unconscious victim. The firefighters attempted to resuscitate Reid but were unsuccessful. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least one other person was transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The wreck prompted the closure of Cajalco Road in both directions for more than four hours as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
