The crash happened just before midnight on South Milton Road at Route 66.

Flagstaff, AZ – The person who was seriously injured in a skateboard accident in Flagstaff on Tuesday, June 3, has succumbed to his injuries, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The DPS identified the deceased victim as 22-year-old Derek Blakely.
Police said a marked patrol vehicle, operated by an off-duty Flagstaff police officer, was going northbound on S Milton Rd approaching Route 66 when a man, later identified as Blakely, on a self-balancing, single-wheel electrical skateboard entered the roadway.
Blakely sustained severe injuries in the collision. The Flagstaff police officer stopped and rendered aid to Blakely.
Blakely was transported to the hospital where he later died. DPS confirmed Blakely's death on Tuesday, June 10.

Flagstaff, AZ – One person was seriously injured after an electric skateboard collided with a Flagstaff PD patrol vehicle late Tuesday night, according to a police report.

Investigators say an on-duty Flagstaff police officer in a marked patrol vehicle was northbound on South Milton Road approaching Route 66 just before midnight when a man on a self-balancing, single-wheel electric skateboard entered the roadway, leading to the crash.
The man suffered serious injuries in the crash. The officer stopped and rendered aid to the injured man.
The patient was rushed to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
