Diego Valencia ID'd as Man Killed in Castaic Car Crash on Golden State (5) Freeway near State Route 126
Castaic, California (February 23, 2022) – Diego Valencia of Castaic, 23, has been identified as the man who died on Tuesday night in a crash involving two vehicles in the Castaic area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Valencia was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Golf northbound on the Golden State (5) Freeway when he slammed into the concrete center median for unknown reasons.
The Volkswagen became disabled in the roadway and was struck on the left side by a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq.
The accident took place at around 10:10 p.m. on February 22.

Valencia died in the crash.
The other motorist, a 42-year-old Sylmar man, sustained minor injuries.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
