Diem Tran Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in San Jose

, California (December 10, 2021) – Diem Tran, 44, of San Jose, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Thursday morning two-vehicle accident in San Jose, according to the Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.

The deadly accident happened at about 9:30 a.m., on December 9, on Highway 101, just north of the Julian Street and McKee Road exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by a 19-year-old man, was headed southbound on the highway when it lost control and swerved into the fourth lane.

Unfortunately, the Toyota reportedly crashed into a 2006 Honda Odyssey, operated by Tran. The crash impact pushed the Honda off the roadway, where it collided with a tree on the right shoulder.

Sadly, Tran was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fourth lane was shut down while officers cleared the scene and reopened at 12:30 p.m.

Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
