Dillon Thornton-Weaver Hurt in Deadly Eureka Motorcycle Accident on King Salmon Avenue

Eureka, California (August 29, 2022) – Dillon Thornton-Weaver, 21, of Eureka, was injured in a deadly motorcycle collision that happened in Eureka on August 21, the California Highway Patrol said.
Jay Lewis, 49, of Eureka, died following the incident that took place on King Salmon Avenue near the entrance to the PG&E power plant.
According to the CHP, Thornton-Weaver was driving a 2006 BMW sedan east on King Salmon Avenue when he attempted to overtake another vehicle and drifted into the westbound side, where he collided head-on with an oncoming 2005 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Lewis.
The crash left Lewis dead at the scene.
Thornton-Weaver was transported to St. Joseph Hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
