, California (December 29, 2021) – One of the four people who died in a plane crash that happened near El Cajon on Monday evening has been identified as Douglas James Grande, 45, according to the County Medical Examiner's Office.

The incident happened in the unincorporated Bostonia neighborhood near Pepper Drive and North Mollison at about 7:15 p.m. Monday, December 27.

Authorities said a Learjet 35A business jet left the John Wayne Airport in and was scheduled to land at Gillespie Field airport.

The plane clipped power lines, crashed, and burst into flames. 

Douglas Grande Among Victims Killed in El Cajon Plane Crash

Grande was among two pilots who died in the crash, along with two nurses.

Authorities said the four victims worked for Aeromedevac Air Ambulance.

There were no other injuries in the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
