Mendocino County, California (August 17, 2022) – The motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a vehicle Sunday evening in Mendocino County has been identified as Douglas Prado, 70, of Willits, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. on August 14, on Highway 101 at the Talmadge Road on-ramp.

Prado was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Highway 101 when he was struck by a white 2013 Toyota Venza that made a turn from Talmadge Road and drove the wrong way onto Highway 101.

Prado was killed in the collision.

The 83-year-old man driving the SUV was uninjured and stayed at the scene.

Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the incident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Mendocino County, California (August 15, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle on Sunday evening in Mendocino County, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on August 14, on the southbound Talmage onramp at Ukiah.

A white car and a motorcycle were involved in the incident.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the site of the crash.

The collision caused a closure of the onramp for nearly two hours as investigators worked at the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
