Mesa, AZ. – An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was injured in a motorcycle collision in Mesa on Friday night, according to the authorities.
The incident took place on State Route 24 at Signal Butte Road on Friday, June 27.
According to the report, the trooper was responding to an incident and had the lights and sirens on traveling east on SR 24 when he went throught the red light and was hit by a vehicle trying to turn onto the freeway from Signal Butte Road.
The trooper was transported to a hospital with a serious leg injury.
The other driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
