Menifee, CA. – A 45-year-old Los Angeles man was critically injured in a crash that happened Thursday night at an intersection in Menifee.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred around 10 p.m. on Highway 74 at Palomar Road.
The man was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima northbound on Palomar Road when he crashed into the rear of a dump truck parked along the roadside at Highway 74.
Riverside County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and found the man with extensive life-threatening injuries. The patient was rushed to a regional trauma center in critical condition.
The truck driver was not hurt.
Police suspect that the Los Angeles man was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
