Man Hospitalized after Highway 24 Accident on near Pleasant Hill Road in Lafayette

Lafayette, California (October 27, 2021) – One person was seriously injured early Wednesday morning in a rear-end collision in Lafayette, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 6:48 a.m., authorities received a report about the accident on the eastbound side of Highway 24 near Pleasant Hill Road.
A silver Acura MDX reportedly slammed into the back of a dump truck that had stalled on the freeway.

The man driving the Acura MDX was transported by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. His name and current condition were not immediately available.
The No. 3, 4, 5, and 6 lanes were closed for several hours following the crash. As of 9:00 a.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
No other details regarding the collision were immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
