Dylan Smith ID'd as Man Killed in Grover Beach Accident on Trouville Avenue and 13th Street
Grover Beach, California (August 1, 2022) – Dylan Tyler Smith, 29, of Arroyo Grande, has been identified as the man who was killed in a crash involving a fire truck in Grover Beach on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened at Trouville Avenue and 13th Street at about 10:20 p.m. on July 27.
According to the report, the fire engine was traveling northbound on 13th Street when it collided with Smith, who was trying to cross the intersection on an electric bike.
The crash ejected Smith from his bike and he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The three fire crew members who were in the truck were not injured.
Authorities are investigating the deadly Grover Beach crash.

San Luis Obispo, California (July 28, 2022) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a fire truck at an intersection in Grover Beach on Wednesday night.
The fatal bicycle accident happened at around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Trouville Avenue and 13th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 29-year-old Arroyo Grande man was riding an electric bike westbound on Trouville Avenue when he entered the intersection and was struck by a Five Cities Fire Authority truck driven by a 39-year-old employee driver.

The bicyclist was ejected from the bike and was transported to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the deceased person was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
