At Least 1 Severely Injured in East Los Angeles Crash on E Olympic Boulevard and S Eastern Avenue
East Los Angeles, California (March 11, 2022) – Two people were trapped in a fiery car crash that happened early Friday morning at an intersection in East Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The multi-vehicle collision happened at around 12:50 a.m. on E Olympic Boulevard and S Eastern Avenue, just in front of McDonald's.
Three vehicles collided under unclear circumstances. A traffic signpost for the 710 Freeway was also damaged in the crash. One of the cars caught fire with two parties trapped inside.
East Los Angeles Sheriff's Office deputies, Los Angeles firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene.
The firefighters helped extinguish the fire and freed the parties.
The report said at least one person sustained severe injuries. The patient was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Officers are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
