, California (May 19, 2022) – Edgar Guzman, 31, of Reno, Nevada, and three juveniles were injured in a deadly collision involving a wrong-way driver on Sunday morning in Susanville.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 11:10 a.m. on May 15, on Highway 385 at Wran Road.

CHP said a 65-year-old man from Spokane, Washington, was driving a 1996 Toyota Camry southbound on when he swerved across the centerline into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Guzman.

Guzman reportedly tried to avoid a crash, but the two vehicles collided. The impact caused Guzman's vehicle to overturn.

The driver of the Camry was not wearing a seatbelt and died in the accident.

Guzman and his passengers, aged 14, 9, and 4, were wearing their seatbelts and were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
