Edward Garcia Injured in Fatal Sutter County Accident on State Route 99 near Live Oak Boulevard
Sutter County, California (July 24, 2022) – Edward Garcia, 20, was among two people seriously hurt in a deadly Sutter County car accident on Tuesday night, the authorities said.
The incident took place on SR-99 near Live Oak Boulevard just before 8 p.m. on July 19.
CHP said an 18-year-old Olivehurst man was driving a 2006 Toyota Solara south on northbound SR 99 when he collided head-on with a southbound U-Haul moving van with two occupants.
The driver of the Solara was killed in the crash.
The impact of the accident caused the U-Haul to overturn.
Garcia was riding in the U-Haul and suffered major injuries. The other occupant of the U-Haul was also seriously injured.
CHP said DUI is suspected to be a factor in the incident, which remained under investigation.
