75-Year-old Passenger Dies in Hesperia Car Accident on E Avenue near Hercules Street
Hesperia, California (September 10, 2022) – A 75-year-old man was killed when the vehicle he was traveling in was rear-ended by another car Friday night in Hesperia, as per a local news source.
The collision took place at about 9:12 p.m. at E Avenue and Hercules Street.
The accident involved a 2016 Kia Soul driven by a 24-year-old Apple Valley man and a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 20-year-old Hesperia man.
Police said both vehicles were heading north on E Avenue, with the Kia behind the Chevrolet. For unknown reasons, the Kia rear-ended the Chevrolet, causing it to roll one time.
The 75-year-old man riding as a passenger in the Kia sustained fatal injuries and died at the crash scene.
It was not clear if the Hesperia driver was hurt.
The Apple Valley driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The collision is under investigation by the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
