CHP said an 84-year-old man was walking in the traffic lanes when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old

Thermal, CA – An elderly pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Thermal on Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place in the area of Avenue 70 and Pierce Street at about 9:20 p.m. April 9.
CHP said an 84-year-old man was walking in the traffic lanes when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene after the collision.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the collision.
