Phoenix, AZ.- A woman has died after being involved in a collision with a Valley Metro bus in Phoenix on Wednesday morning.
According to a report by the Phoenix Police Department, the crash happened near 35th Avenue and Thomas Road at about 9:45 a.m. July 2.
Police reported that Xavier Manuel, 23, was driving a vehicle westbound on Thomas Road when he crashed into the rear of the bus, which was stopped at the bus stop west of 35th Avenue.
Emily Alexis Analla, 29, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
A second woman riding on the bus was transported as a precaution.
Manuel was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later booked on charges of manslaughter.
Authorities believe Manuel was driving while impaired.
The crash led to the closure of the intersection for hours.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
