At Least 1 Hospitalized with Major Injuries After Encinitas Car Crash on Interstate 5
Encinitas, California (February 1, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a DUI crash that happened early Tuesday morning in Encinitas, sending one person to the hospital.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 1:17 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue.
Two vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
Authorities said the crash resulted in major injuries. One of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. That motorist was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
No other details were given, but an investigation is ongoing.
