Hollywood, CA – A woman was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Hollywood over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The fatal accident occurred at about 9 p.m. on June 29 on West Sunset Boulevard near North Sierra Bonita Avenue in Hollywood.
LAPD said 37-year-old Erika Edwards walked to her car after performing at a fundraiser in the area and was outside her car when she was hit by a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
The involved driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid and remains at large.
Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
LAPD believe speed was a factor in the deadly crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
