Driver Injured in Escondido Train Crash on Enterprise Street near West Mission Road
Escondido, California (December 20, 2021) – A driver was injured after a Sprinter train hit a pickup truck late Monday morning in Escondido, according to the Escondido Police Department.
The collision occurred at around 10:40 a.m. in the 740 block of Enterprise Street near West Mission Road. The area is just south of state Route 78 and west of Interstate 15.
Escondido police said the train struck a blue pickup truck, which then slammed into a fire hydrant.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries in the crash.
No injuries were reported on the train.
The crash remains under investigation.
