Eugene Segura Among 4 Killed in Santa Clarita Crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road
Santa Clarita, California (September 8, 2022) – Eugene Segura, 41, was among four people killed in a head-on collision late last month in Santa Clarita, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.
The crash occurred at about 4:10 p.m. on August 28, in the 29889 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, Wilbert Montenegro, 40, of Valencia, was driving a 2019 BMW M5 southbound on San Francisquito Canyon Road when he made an unsafe turning movement.
A blue 1989 GMC Suburban heading north on the roadway swerved across the double yellow lines and collided with the BMW.
Segura was a passenger in the BMW and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a day after the collision.
Montenegro and another passenger in the BMW, Shane Rivera, 41, of Valencia, were killed in the accident.
The driver of the GMC, Thomas Spencer, 28, of Santa Clarita, and his girlfriend were taken to a hospital with major injuries and Spencer succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Santa Clarita, California (August 28, 2022) – Two people died, and two others were hospitalized with critical injuries after a Sunday afternoon Santa Clarita crash involving two vehicles, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The incident took place at about 4:11 p.m. on San Francisquito Canyon Road at Riverview Road.
A white BMW and an older blue SUV collided head-on for unknown reasons. The BMW caught fire, but responding firefighters put it out shortly after arrival.
Three people were pronounced dead on arrival. Two others sustained critical injuries, and an air ambulance was dispatched to provide medical transportation.
San Francisquito Canyon Road was closed in both directions for several hours following the collision.
